Afghan Academy

Programs & Services

Six programs. One community.

Afghan Academy is the school, and Afghan Academy is also the constellation around it — the institutions that hold a community together.

Burial Services

Baghe Furdous Cemetery offers Islamic funeral services and a dedicated burial ground, with the community standing alongside grieving families through every step.

AAPN — Professionals Network

Mentorship, networking, and career development for Afghan-American professionals — and a bridge for our youth into careers in medicine, law, engineering, and beyond.

Book Club & Library

A growing collection of Afghan and Islamic literature, monthly book discussions, and a quiet commitment to supporting authors writing from and about our community.

Why this matters

Identity is something a community has to keep choosing.

For families who came here from Afghanistan — and for families whose children were born here and have never seen it — there is no single moment when culture is preserved or lost. It happens in a thousand small choices: which language is spoken at home, which holidays are celebrated, whether the elders are visited, whether the children know the names of the books their grandparents read.

Our programs exist because the community decided, deliberately and over thirty years, that those choices should not be left to chance. Each program — the school, the mosque, the cemetery, the network, the book club — is a place where one of those choices becomes easier to make.
